Weight

Mark tasks that are weighing on you mentally — things you keep thinking about, often because of their importance or consequences.

The Weight strategy helps you identify tasks that feel like a mental burden. These are the to-dos you can't stop thinking about, often because they have high stakes, emotional baggage, or consequences attached to them. Unlike a "Frog" (which is difficult/unpleasant to do), a "Weight" is defined by the stress it causes you simply by existing on your list.

How to enable

To enable this strategy, go to ☰ → Features/Strategies → Weight.

How to use

Once enabled, you can assign a "weight" to tasks to visualize their mental burden.

Adding Weight

  • Magic Words: Type *weight or *heavy in the task title.

  • Menu Action: Add the "Set weight" action to your Hover Buttons, Right-Click menu, or the Left Button.

Settings

You can customize the strategy to fit your needs:

  • One Level vs. Multiple: By default, you can toggle between "Heavy" or "Not Heavy" (One Level). Uncheck this to use the full 1-3 (or 4) scale.

  • Max Weight: Check this setting to enable Level 4 (Black) for tasks that feel absolutely crushing.

  • Icon Styles: Choose between the standard icons, filled icons, or emojis to represent the weight.
