Marvin's API lets you connect Marvin to your own scripts and tools: add tasks, read your data, and have Marvin notify your own server when something happens. The API is always available.
Finding your API credentials
Open the Features page, find API and open its settings. Click the button to see your API credentials. From there you can also reset your tokens if you think someone else has them.
Keep your credentials private. Anyone who has them can access your Marvin data.
API documentation
The full documentation, with every endpoint and examples, is on GitHub: github.com/amazingmarvin/MarvinAPI. There is also a link to it in the API settings.
Webhooks
Webhooks let Marvin contact your server when something happens, for example when a task is added, edited, completed or deleted, or when time tracking or a timer starts or stops. Add a webhook in the API settings, choose what should trigger it, and enter the address Marvin should send it to. You can also add your own HTTP headers.
More ways to connect
The API section of this help center covers the Marvin command-line interface and the desktop app's local API server.
For connecting apps without writing code, see Zapier Integration and Email to Marvin.
