Long lists can drain you before you even start. Shorten what you see so you're only ever looking at a few to-dos at once, switch to a lighter visual layout, or look at just one task at a time. Short lists can be a real game changer.
What can help
Truncated List
Cap how much you see. Set your list to show just a couple of tasks at a time, so a long list never feels long. You're only ever looking at the next bit.

The Wall
See your tasks as a wall of squares instead of a plain list. A different layout can feel lighter when a long list drains you.
Super Focus Mode
See one task at a time on your screen, so there's no list to be overwhelmed by and nothing else to distract you.

The Task Jar
Pull out one task at a time at random from a jar instead of seeing your whole list. It also helps when you can't decide what to do next.
Ideas to try
Two at a time. Turn on Truncated List. On your day list, open the three-dots menu and choose Truncate. Set the list size to 2 and the behavior to Top up. You only ever choose between two tasks, and a new one appears each time you finish one.
Small sets of wins. Set Truncated List to 3 with Sets. You see three tasks and get three new ones only after you've finished all of them. Every set you clear is a small win.
Just the next thing. Press F on your day list to start Super Focus Mode. You see one task, and when you finish it the next one appears.
Let the jar decide. Press J to put all of today's tasks into The Task Jar. Pull one out, do it, pull the next.
How to turn on a feature
Open the main menu and click Features, or press S.
Search for the feature by name and turn it on.
Choose where you want to reach it in the Access dialog that opens.
You don't have to try everything at once. Pick the one that sounds most like you, use it for a few days, and see how it feels.
