Marvin Help

I struggle to prioritize

Often nothing is truly more important than the rest, and you freeze. Don't overthink the perfect order. Make a few rough lists (urgent, weighing on you, quick wins, moves you toward a goal), then within a list let a random picker or This or That choose for you.

Smart Lists

Make a few rough buckets: urgent, weighing on you, quick wins, and big tasks that move you toward a goal. Sorting roughly beats agonizing over one perfect order.

This or That

Can't decide? Marvin shows you two tasks and you pick one. You only ever choose between two options.

The Task Jar

Ideas to try

Rough buckets, then pick. Make a few smart lists: urgent, weighing on you, quick wins, moves you toward a goal. Open the one that matters most today and start This or That on it.

Mark the few that matter. With Importance Levels on, type *important in a title (or use Set priority) for the handful of tasks that truly matter. Everything else is fine as it is.

When it doesn't matter. If everything in a list is about equally important, put it in The Task Jar and let chance pick the order.

How to turn on a feature

  1. Open the main menu and click Features, or press S.

  2. Search for the feature by name and turn it on.

  3. Choose where you want to reach it in the Access dialog that opens.

You don't have to try everything at once. Pick the one that sounds most like you, use it for a few days, and see how it feels.
